About This Work

A small handmade creature sits low to the ground, almost like a tiny spirit caught mid-step. Its pale, rounded head has simple dark eyes and a soft, slightly worn look, while the long white fluff around its body gives it a wispy, cloudlike feel. The little figure rests on a rough base of bark and moss, which makes the whole piece feel more like a miniature forest scene than a plain sculpture. I like how the textures do so much of the work here—the fuzzy fibers, the rough wood, the patchy green moss, and the glossy little eyes all playing against each other. It feels delicate and a little whimsical, but also quiet and handmade in a way that makes it seem personal.
